You can help in many ways:
The quality of your life in Greene County depends upon the views and integrity of these elected officials.
Virginia’s state-wide general elections in November 2023 will be among the most consequential elections of our lifetime. Every seat in the legislature is up for grabs. Democratic control of the State Senate is at risk and needed to balance the Republican control of the House of Delegates and to reign in the Republican governor. Following 2021's redistricting, Greene County was placed into House District 62 and State Senate District 28. We will be voting for candidates in those districts in November, but until the end of the year, we are represented in HD55 and SD24.
Sara Ratcliffe (D), chair of the Greene County Democrats for six months in 2022, is running for HD62. She was the Democratic nominee for HD55 in 2021 and has decades of experience as a political activist. She will be challenging incumbent Nick Freitas (R) who is seeking re-election.

Jason Ford (D) a young man from Culpeper has declared he's a Democratic State Senate candidate for SD28. He's a graduate of Mary Washington University and works for Good Will. He worked for the Spanberger campaign in 2022 and everyone sings his praises.
