We recommend that you vote early to be certain your vote is counted. There could be any number of incidences such as a bad storm, car trouble, or a family emergency that might prevent you from voting on Election Day.
Lock-in your vote by voting early!
In addition, voting early helps political campaigns concentrate their get-out-the vote tactics on those who have not voted, and also helps stop your getting texts, phone calls, and even mailers.
Remember who you vote for is secret! If your friends or family disagrees with your political decisions, they can't find out who you voted for. Public records show only that you voted.

BE SURE to mail your ballot early enough to arrive no later than November 5 TO BE COUNTED Mail delivery in Virginia has been notoriously slow since Trump appointed the postmaster general, so we suggest you mail the ballot at least a week ahead of time.

Curbside voting is available for those who cannot walk inside or stand in line to vote.
You have until October 15 to officially register to vote in time to vote early or vote on November 5 for the General Election.
A voting law passed in 2022 allows unregistered voters to register and vote a provisional ballot on Election Day with "same-day registration" at your polling place. After voting same-day registration, you will get a notice with the date, time, and place where the local electoral board will approve or deny your provisional ballot. You can attend this meeting, but you are not required to, for your ballot to be counted.
If your ballot is not counted, you will receive written notice from your general registrar.
Between October 15 and November 1, you can register to vote at the Greene County's registrar's office, and if your registration is approved, you can vote early immediately afterward.
In Virginia, You Must Show an ID to Vote, although there are acceptions .
